striper,
if you get a table i will go in with you. i have a lot of stuff from rods to reels to tackle box's that i will bring. i'm not really looking to make a dollar as much as getting some great deals to someone looking for them. how has the turnout been in the past?

Bfelts and I will be there trying to get rid of some stuff

I hope you guys will come out and see whats happening - I will plan to have something - either a new reel or some tackle - each member that stops by and says hi and introduces themselves will go in to a drawing - the winner gets the gear. I dont care if you spend a dime or night, just come out see whats going on and say hi and get a chance at some free gear.

striper, you better bring all the tackle you want to sell. I just sold my boat today and the guy cleaned me out on most of the tackle but still have lots of fishing/marine accessories coming with me. plus you have the tackle that works at those nuclear lakes that i want to see!

Lenny; Your last post poses a good question. How are we going to tell the FVA guys from the rest of the rif-raf in the crowd? I only know a few of you guys by face.

i have only been a member of this site for a short time and it seems to be growing by leaps and bounds! I look forward to being at the event w/ striper to probably help him more, than sell any of my old stuff. And, more importantly to meet the members of this forum to put a face w/ the name. I dont know the details of a forum like this and how the expense is compensated for, but maybe there is a way to allocate some funds to print a tablecloth that overhangs the table and has an FVA emblem on the front for next year. And like striper mentioned earlier a raffle is a good way to bring members in/out to a meet and greet! i will become a supporter this weekend and this forum has a great base to build off of between the professional input of the local guides and the trial and error of locals! For this weekend maybe we request that striper gets a hat that we take a sharpie to and write FVA accross the front?

I will have something for our table Bfelts that relates to the site - money form different events and sponsorship levels allows me to cover gear for giveaways and such - no biggie.

I am also going to bring a few price sheets for fish finders to trolling motors in case anyone wants to buy a new one - I am not bringing but I am sure the price lists will be less than anything in the stores.

That and we will have a special handshake

Hi Striper,

Sorry to bug you again. They have a small, bottom line model, that I was thinking to just quickly install myself and mount it on the trolling motor. It is the 797c2i SI Combo NVB. It is listed on Hummingbirds site for 1199....

Bfelts, for me, it will be ok. This will be the 3rd GPS on the boat, I have a lowrance on the bow already with SD card capabilities, so I'll have one setup for mapping (non color unfortunately), and the Humminbird sidescan. This model I believe has a built in GPS receiver, so I don't have to install another antenna on the boat (drill holes). To be honest, I may just uninstall the lowrance and use its powersource and put it on my older Bayliner Fish and Ski boat (I use with my daughter and girlfriend). Anyway, this will solve a few problems, it'll give me a working water temp, sidescan, and it will be mounted in a way where using the trolling motor won't cause so much interference so that you can't read the screen (the universal mounts on trolling motors, at least the one I have, sucks).

Many thanks for the comments...it helped me go ahead and put it on the bow now and not go thru the big effort of having a hull mount (that was not going to be cheap either) like I had orginally envisioned.

Shakeyhead...............I think a lot of guys had that problem. If you were coming 95 north and got off at the 140 exit...just as soon as you make a right turn on Courthouse Rd. make the immediate right turn up the narrow paved road. The Eagles is in an old restaurant at the end of the road. Not very well marked from the road. Sorry we missed you.

I know the road you are talking about did not know anything was up there thought it was a dead end.
