I just wanted to send out a reminder to everyone who visits the site regarding the election on November 6th. Now that we are inside 45-days, most counties in the state are open for absentee/early voting. Also, most counties will allow you to vote absentee for just about any reason you can think of. If for some reason you think you might not be able to make it to the polls in your precinct on November 6th, then please take a few minutes to get in your absentee ballot.

Just check out your county board of elections website, and the info will be there. Whether you're voting absentee or not, be sure to check out the sample ballots that will be on each of the county sites. I.E. - Hanover County: http://www.co.hanover.va.us/registrar/default.htm

Do your research on the candidates in your districts, and on the proposed amendments prior to going to the polls. The local and state officials and amendments are just as important as the general election for president.

Voting is extremely important, and something that everyone of us should do as American citizens. If you are a citizen of this country, there is absolutely no good reason for you to not vote.

Great point Erik. I will be hunting that day but will vote at some point. However it may be easier to do the absentee desl so I can stay in the woods. Just a thought for the hunters.

Oh, and I also understand that today is the absolute last day to register to vote in the State of Virginia.

If you have not registered yet, you can do so online by visiting the State Board of Elections website: http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/

6-days till the election. I believe that Saturday is the last day for most localities to accept in person absentee ballots.

Check you local areas for details.
