View Full Version : James/Chick Report 9/9

The last couple weeks on the river have been really good… for both quality and quanity.
Our clients have been taking bass up to 5 pounds in the lower creeks of the James and Chick.
The topwater action has been outstanding when you hit the low tide and low light combo just right.
We've been smackin' them with a white 1/4 oz. BOOHYA buzzbait worked in the grass around
feeder creek mouths and a REBEL POP-R on the grass edge at dead low tide.
After the sun starts to bake a little while, we have to switch gears and be a bit more
methodical with the presentations. Normally, we are changing up between a YUM
CRAW PAPI Texas Rigged with a 1/4oz. sinker and a REBEL WEE-R worked
around isolated wood and brush piles. When the bite gets finicky, we finesse them
with a little worm and 1/8 oz. weight. Productive creeks have been Chippokes,
Gordons, Black Stump, and Diascund. Isolated main river laydowns and brushpiles
have also been good.

Water Temps: mid 80's Water Clarity:mildly stained
