2X for Upper - Put in with Dad Sunday at the Rt1 bridge and fished a little ways up river on the opposite side and had two keepers on a spinnerbait. Came back and tried the bridge pilings for an hour and did not get a single bite. Went into the little creek beside the bridge (the one with the old bridge piling in the middle) and it was game on. Now we did not get into any 3 pounders but we hammered the 14" bass for a couple hours. They were schooling in the creek and would hit anything white that was moving. (SB/Fluke/CB/Trap/ and even a chatterbait) I have not had a 40 plus fish day in years so it was about time my number came up.

Good job Morgan. I know a few people that live on the lake and they said the same about the upper part of the lake for now.

Default Gaston

Man Gaston was tough. Went last Wed-Friday. Fished upriver and it looked great but only caugt 3 keeper in 2 days. Fished down the final day and only caught one on that day. The federation had its classic there last weekend and there were lots of zeros put on the board.
Seems like there were all kinds of patterns that were working somewhat from what I heard

Anyway, going back down there this weekend. fishing the CMN on Sunday. It would be nice to find some fish. I really want to fish upiver. I fished those creeks up there with no luck. I will try them again. Do you guys think there will be some fish still in the grass?

Thanks for the info--I hope I do better

DG

If the grass is still green there will be fish in it somewhere. To help yourself break the grass down, anna lanes in it, or multiple edges should work. But if you can find hard cover like a dock or rocks mixed with the grass that should be a big factor.

Lunker56 I talked to one guy on Gaston that said the bite only lasted for three days up lake. Let me see if I can get one of them on the phone and see were the bite is right now. The one that I talked too that said the bite only lasted three days is out of town and the other two that I now down there just Striper fish but some times they know were a bass or two can be caught.
