SLF:

I haven't been after them this year, may not have the opportunity to go at all. However, in years past, I used to fish for them heavy

The peak of shad season is tradionally (year after year after year) say between April 7th and (maybe) to April 18th.

Shad can be caught after April 18th, into early May, but they have usually spawned (no roe).

LilJ I don't think that the shad have made there run yet, what the boys at city dock were catching were the early birds. It will be another week or two before we get the major runs of shad followed closely by the striper.

Yeah some numbers are starting to show up - wont be long till it all breaks loose - always right around turkey season - right when the redbud and dogwood start to pop.
