    Default Deer hunting 11-10-11

    Does this.....

    ....and this......

    .....equal this.......?

Well....maybe. I noticed this track and especially this rub (10" cedar tree) a few days back at the place we hunt in Hume. I also listened to the owner at the property in that he had recently seen a 12 ptr. AND a 15 ptr. side by side roughly at the area where the track and rub are located. So, this morning I went and set out in my climber in that location. At 7:45 AM this 8 ptr. came right into me and the rub ( aided by a little Tinks) and the rest is history. However, I don't think that this buck made that track OR that rub. I will set up there again in that same location after I get my required doe and hope to catch a glimpse / shot at the two other big boys. I normally would let a deer this size pass and try him next year, but HEY.....I had NO season at all last year. Got to make up for it. I can also tell you that the rut in our area is starting and the next week or so will be hot/

Deer have really been moving , but the larger bucks will REALLY be starting to wander, chase, etc, this weekend. We (3 of us), have taken a 9, an 8, a 3, a spike and one doe in the last week.

They are rolling in our area. had several pass this morning cruising the woods. Larry I think its possible that buck did that but not probable. Spend some more time in that area you might see a giant.
