We hit Amelia again this year and in pre-scouting we saw hundreds of birds in the dove fields. Looks like the wheat etc was not that good this year but the sunflowers were solid. 2 buddies of mine limited out and the rest of us came close on Monday. The field we hunted was long and narrow and a lot of the birds were coming from behind us which made those shots really hard.

I think the single biggest thing that helped this years opening day of dove was the huge amounts of rain. Almost all the farms around us have not been able to cut the corn because the fields have been too wet. This concentrated the birds in to the dove fields.
