    Default The last days maybe?

As I look at world events and what is happening in our own country lately I am amazed. I often wonder why people are having a hard time seeing the truth in things. They see evil and call it good. They Commit evil deeds then declare its not their fault and people are buying into it. After 200 plus years of embracing god as a nation God is now under attack on every front. So many people are refusing to accept any personal responsibility for their status in life or actions. There's a dangerous trend sweeping the nation where people don't want to work hard anymore. A lot of it has to do with our status of being a rich country. A life of ease is dangerous to the unaware. But I think there is more to it than that.

If you are a born again Christian then you believe the word of god and you also believe in gods written prophecies. I believe that we are indeed living in the last days. It's well established that every generation since the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus has believed they were living in the last days too. Our generation is no different. In a sense it's been true for each generation but that's a discussion for another time. There is overwhelming evidence that we are closer than we have ever been before to the rapture that precedes the return of Christ. There are no more prophecies left that need to be fulfilled that would otherwise cause the delay of the second coming of Christ, the rapturing of the church, or the start of the 7 years of tribulation. Reading and studying the book of Daniel you learn that we are living in the last days of the last empire prior to the return of Christ. The final empire prior to the return of Christ is the Roman Empire. What you also find out in studying the book of Daniel is that America isn't even mentioned as a player in end time events. So I ask myself why? Here we are the richest and most powerful nation on earth and we play no significant role in the events of the the 7 year tribulation period prior to the return of Christ. So why? I believe it's because our nation will be so broke, so dysfunctional that we will not be able to help ourselves let alone have any influence in future world events; assuming we are still a free nation by that time. I also believe that 9/11 was more than just a terrorist attack. It was a significant event that started accelerating our journey down that road. It was 9/11 that gave us the patriot act which in turn brought us the NSA and home land security etc. I also believe that the economical collapse of our country is unavoidable. When it does collapse it will send the word economy into a tailspin and panic. That will be the final trigger that sets the stage for the resurrection of the long lost Roman Empire and introduction of the Antichrist spoken of in the bible. Maybe the economic collapse will be partly due to the rapturing of Christ's church. Maybe it will be a combination of natural disasters that cause a economic collapse, coupled with citizens that are unable to cope or do for themselves. Regardless of the reasons why; in the end we are non players. I believe that what is going on in this country right now before our very eyes is god putting this country in a position that he wants it in prior to the final chapter. It's not that god is directly forcing our country in that direction but rather he removes the restraints that help keep ourselves morally in check. I see our country moving towards that direction little by little; one compromise followed by another and another; steadily eroding our godly values day after day. Every day it gets harder for people to tell the difference between good and evil. They have eyes but cannot see and ears that cannot hear. The truth eludes them because they don't want to know the truth. They trust in their government more than they trust in him. They trust in their money and financial security thinking that is enough to take care of all of their needs; and therefore have no need for anything more. In essence God has turned us over to our own selves allowing our foolishness, greed, selfishness and lusts to direct our paths and ultimately our decline. I know this thought process seems way out there to non believers. But consider this; there is the super volcano in Yellowstone. If it were to erupt it would wipe out half the country. Or the big one in California. Lying in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean is the largest known volcano in the universe. Any one of these or a combination of one or more of them would cripple this country economically and without advance warning, not to mention the rest of the problems that go with it. Maybe it will be a slow economic death. How about a 17 trillion dollar debt that's growing larger every day. Or the approximate 70 trillion dollars of unfunded debt obligations America has to pay out to Medicare, social security, Medicaid, federal and military retirement and health systems, Obama care, Veterans affairs, welfare, food stamps, and other entitlements coming due in the next 30 to 50 years. It's down right scary when you think on it. There are not enough people or business in this country that can pay that much money in taxes to cover that much unfunded obligations.

God also told us to watch for the warning signs that signal we are getting closer to the second coming of Christ. One sign to look for is that "mans knowledge will increase". It's astounding how fast technology is advancing. How much more advanced will we be in another ten years let alone another hundred years. During the last days the "seasons will change". That's interesting; global warming maybe? There will be "signs and wonders in the heavens" never before seen by man; perhaps the pictures of Mars surface and galaxies 4 billion light years away? It is said that the last days will be as in the days of Noah. Where life continues to go on day after day the same as the day before it. In other words people aren't concerned about the things of God but rather are consumed in their own ways. They don't see it coming. Kinda like not seeing the "bridge is out" sign because you are texting while driving. It is also written that in the last days there will be a turning away from god and from the truth. You can't convince me that this isn't happening right now and it's accelerating.

So I see what's going on and I am not afraid. I know it will be ok for me and my family. That doesn't mean I will escape the hardship and difficulties that are coming. I will have to go through them too. I just know I will be ok going through it. My god will not forsake me. In him will I trust and by him I will be cared for. How long is the last days; how close are we to the rapture of the church; I have no idea. No one knows but God. It cannot be predicted. I just know we are really getting close; close being relative to Gods time; not ours. The reasons I have stated explaining why we are not a player in the last days are just speculations on my part. They are not biblically based. The bible doesn't say why. Maybe I have it all wrong and the direct opposite is true. Maybe America will have a bigger role to play than anyone thinks. Maybe it's America itself that will be the country that leads a new world order of other countries formed together to fight against God. There are a lot of possible scenarios that could be conjured up.

None of it however is cause for me to panic and start building bunkers and stocking up on food ammo or guns. By the time it comes I will be either dead or raptured up. Either way I will be in heaven watching it all unfold. Until then I will trust in him.

Well that's my take on today's current events and what's going on in our country today. and why we are headed in the direction we are headed in. God bless and god willing I will see you guys on the water

    Amen Jim.

I really think there is alot of truth to what you just wrote. My church and the Life group I'm in have talked some about all of this, and one thing that stood out that was said in a sermon 2 weeks ago was that, especially here in the US, we're seeing a seperation. I tend to think its a quickening of sorts that God is sorting believers and those who have professed Jesus as their savior, and the unsaved. There is less and less middle ground, the fence sitters when it comes to faith in God are being shaken off the fence, and either fall to one side or the other. The divide in this country between Believers and non believers is widening, and its not coincedence. God doesnt like Lukewarm Christians and I think what is going on is a sorting of who is for God and those that aren't for God are against Him. Years ago, you could be a Christian and not get belittled for it, now more and more its not the case. Years ago, up till the '60's the bible was still being tought in schools also, and the Nation had a much better grasp of the principals and morals of which it was founded upon.

God Bless Jim, and thank you for being a bold Christian who is willing to speak and share with others.

Bring it, Lord. Airborne is ready.

A perfect opportunity to redouble our efforts to reach out and share/spread the good news of salvation. Let's take as many souls possible with us when we go.

Our Heavenly Father has always allowed for this choice for ourselves. It's the key to his Plan of Salvation, in that we have the agency, or choice, to follow his words or not. It's Satan who ultimately desires to take away our ability to choose thru addictions and other forms of spiritual and physical bondage such as debt, tobacco, alcohol, pornography and so and so on. And yes, those calling 'bad' as 'good' and 'good' as 'bad' is very common place nowawdays, leading many young folks into such bondage without ever knowing it.

As for 'stocking up' on food and supplies (like needed medicines), that's up to you Jim, and I don't want to stir the pot too much. However, I personally think it's foolish to not be prepared to tend for your family and neighbors (who are unprepared) in times of need. It does not have to be an end time event to need such things either. It might just be a lost job, leaving some food storage to bridge the gap during hard financial times. I personally know several folks in my church who lost jobs during the worst of the recession. They were prepared with food storage and other supplies for the 'just in case' time, and when it was between a mortgage payment and food, the food was already there in their storage. Being prepared (both physically and spiritually), and having our 'house in order' is paramount as we move thru our lives. Being unprepared for these life's challenges or worst of times events is what will lead to the anarchy or craziness such as that seen and experienced during Sandy and Katrina. I would personally encourage everyone to have 3-months up to 1-years worth of basic food goods for each member in their home, 'just in case'.

No trouble Eric. As a us marine I know all to well about being prepared. And your advice is well taken. A year? I am not that prepared lol. If it gets real bad people will kill you for food and water if you know what I mean. My message was mostly geared in faith of The Lord. But again. It's great advice and we should do our part in being ready. God bless.

I agree with you Jim. The signs are there and I just can't see how God can put up with what is happening but so much longer.

Jim, I have a book that a friend of my father wrote about the end times. I'm going to make you a copy and get it to you (no a copy written book). I think you will find it interesting. I'm just starting to get into it.

We've definitely let the inmates start running the asylum. I think too much attention is given to our political leaders. They are a mere reflection of their people and it is apparent that our leaders are as corrupt, shiftless, and prone to debauchery as our people- a weak minded people make a weak country. Much of what spoiled the minds of our people came and still comes from the television set. I stopped paying for cable some time ago, because the people who profit from it are the same people who own push their anti-Christian views through their programming. HBO, Cinemax, Showtime....none of their programming interests me as a man anymore. When did we become a country that began worshipping untalented people who try to outduel each other as to who can be the most shameless? Quit buying it. Quit profiting those who seek to destroy us. Take that money that would normally go to killing a kid's brain cells and use it to take a kid hunting or fishing.
