Does anyone on here use this shoot through hull transducer. Will it show fish when on plane and doing 20-30mph across the water?
There are all kinds of posts on the BBC board, but everything is about installation.

I'm no electronics expert, but I don't think you'll get fish pings from really any xducer on plane at that speed?

I have that transducer with my bow unit on my TM.
    Wishin' I was fishin'...

Never attempted to look for fish while up on plane. The transducer you mentioned is in my boat and it works well.

A PROPERLY installed shoot-thru (that is what the XP 9 20 is) will perform just as well as the transom version XNT 9 20. The trolling motor puck version is the XTM 9 20. None of those have a temp sensor.
Each of those with a "T" at the end have the temp sensor.

A sonar unit will display any subjects it gets return echos from and only when the subject is within the sonar pulse long enough so it can. How long is a fish within the sonar pulse when traveling 30 mph???? Is your screen scrolling as fast as the boat is going so it can record small stuff when they are within the sonar pulse????
