Oregon Inlet Fishing Report May 8, 2014

Fishing out of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, Point Runner was able to find some great gaffer dolphin with their clients today. The morning was a little rough and choppy on the water but the fishing more than made up for the conditions. The charter boat Sea Breeze Sportfishing also had an excellent day offshore with plenty of dolphin action, with many gaffer sized dolphin hitting the decks for their clients.

Other boats out of Oregon Inlet Fishing Center were reporting some light yellowfin tuna action and some blackfin tuna mixed in with the other catches - captains expect the tuna action to still be a little spotty but improving as fish migrate north. Boats out of Pirates Cove reported some mixed blackfin tuna and amberjack.

Obsession Charters was able to catch a limit of tilefish in spite of the choppy weather, they also landed three nice yellowfin tuna - along with blackfin tuna, dolphin and some nice amberjacks today.
