long as somebody know how to use a gaff besides me. THat was a nightmare in 4 ft seas trying to drive and gaff at the same time! the hard part is picking a day because you have to have blue skies and calm seas so its only a few days notice.

That is a very nice offer and sounds like a lot of fun. What kind of tackle do you use?

Big, lol. I have a 7 Heavy Daiwa Saltist(30-70) spinning rod with a Shimano Spheros 8000 series reel with 50lb braid, typically 40-60lb flouro and either a big ass hook w/ an eel attached or a bucktail.

    Ducknbuck?

Rick and I are likely the only two that have used a gaff. I could be wrong though. At least of the guys who would be interested in going. Plenty of "slat" haters around here, lol.

Reels are 8000 series Shimano bait runners on medium/heavy terramars with 80 lb braid and an 80lb mono leader to a 10/0 hook

id bet money that as soon as a few of these guys hooked into a cobe byrant they would be hooked on it. Sight fishing for cobia is like LMB bedfishing but for 50-100 lb fish that fight harder than anything I have come across.
