    Default Kiptopeake

Took extended family for a first trip to Kiptopeake last week. Wife & me, 2 kids with spouses and 6 grandchildren (All under 6). Rented a Lodge in the park and were very happy with housing and facility. My son talked me into taking my little boat (Triumph 150CC) and it turned out to our best fishing trip ever. Went 5 or 6 miles to CBBT and fished around Fishermans Island. Caught hundreds of Blues and Spanish Mackeral, one nice Red (32") and one decent flounder (delicious). Best bait to use was mullet but we just couldn't seem to catch many. Majority of the fish came on Toothache or Hopkins Spoons. Son & son-in-law went out one day without me and fished live crabs on the Concrete ships for decent catches of Sheepshead and Tog.
Great place for big family get together and if you go, take the boat and fish the bridge hard for pure fun.
