Thread: Fishing spot around Rockahock

    Default Fishing spot around Rockahock

    Hey,

I am launching out of Rockahock and would like some suggestions where I should fish. I'm not interested in making a big run down river so I'm looking for places within lets say 3-4 miles from the boat ramp. I noticed there are several feeder creeks on the right when you leave out. Are any of those worth fishing? Also, the long stretch of docks to the left, do those hold fish this time of year? Any other tips, point of interest, general information will be much appreciated. THANKS!

No need to even start the outboard. Put the trolling motor down and begin fishing. Acres of pads, cypress trees, and a lot of brush piles on the break lines. Grass should be doing pretty good too. On a slow day, flukes, senko's, shaky head etc. if they're aggressive then cranks, spinner baits swim jigs and chatter baits. Top water also. Good luck.

get some 4 inch senkos and skip them under the docks on the left side. I have caught them on all tides under the docks. Small spinnerbaits, small cranks work well around the Pads and the creek drains. Enjoy, one of my favorite places to fish.
    cheers,

What they said. You don't need to go far from the dam. You don't need to burn a gallon of gas there.

Thanks for the response. Wonder if the river has a topwater bite yet?
