Hit Smith yesterday in search of the wiley papermouth. Put in at Foxport and ran up into the head of Gills creek. Crappie are in the process of moving up to spawn. We caught fish on both trees and shallow docks. We ended up with 28 keepers and threw back dozens of smaller fish. It got tough in the afternoon and we had to resort to skipping under docks, which isn't my specialty, but it all worked out. Should be on like donkey kong for the next couple of weeks. Headed back Thursday to make another run at em.

1/16 jig heads with pearl white tubes. Hitting them again tomorrow and going to dunk some minnows.

Thanks! I usually just fish a minnow under a float and let them hook themselves. I can't seem to lose that harsh hook set I have lol. I might have to try jigging some too and lay off on the set. Good luck tomorrow.

Hit it again Thursday and Friday. Had 17 keepers Thu and 24 Friday. The fish were hard under the docks and you had to skip way back under the decks to get hit, but if you got it in the right place, you'd get bit. First serious crappie fishing I've done in a few years. Really enjoyed it.
