Default Moving to the DC area

    Hello
Fellow outdoorsman relocating from Alaska to the DC area. Not sure where we're going to live just yet but I will be getting outside as much as possible and thought joining up here would be a good place to learn about the Chesapeake Bay region.

    Cheers

Welcome to the VA area. Lots of good folks here.

Assuming you're military...so, thank you for your service.

welcome aboard! a very different kind of fishing from AK but tons of opportunities just the same. hanging out here will go a long way in getting you oriented, started. don't be bashful about asking questions. as erik said, tons of good doods on here who'll go out of their way to get you set up.

    Thanks,

I grew up in rural upstate NY and cut my teeth on bluegills and bass. Looking forward to exploring the area and learning the ways of big stripers. I learned of the snakehead problem and will doing my best to help eliminate those vermin. I like to fly fish also, so I'm open to ideas on where/what/when.

Although something of a rookie waterfowler, I enjoy it, and I've got a good dog who loves duck hunting.

I'm retired AF and now following my wife's civil service career. I won't be in place until October--gotta sell the house and squeeze in one more fall before I leave.

If any forum members need info about Alaska for trip planning purposes, hit me up.

    Cheers
