Default Quick morning trip to Powhatan WMA

Back in town for 24 hours in between trips and decided to go fish for 4 hours. It was humid as hell and a good bit of fog most of the morning. Water had cooled a little from a week ago. Early on I decided to hit the pads and not too much going on, just panfish sucking bugs and stuff off the top. I started seeing where bait was getting pushed to the top out int he open, about 100 yards off he bank. I rigged up a weightless fluke and managed to catch three bass doing this, no real size though - plus one fish that as soon as he swirled on the bait and I set the hook there was no weight or anything - just slack line blowing in the wind, most likely a pickerel. Sun was starting to break through and I moved back to the wood and grass bank. Picked up a decent fish on the fluke, but still nothing on the spro rat yet. Worked back over tot he pads and managed a 2 pound or so bass. Had to get back to work at 10:30 and deal with some issues, still good to get out.

Great pictures! Always good to get out even if only for a few hours.
