Makes sense. Hopefully you guys get what you need sooner than later.

How is it boating, in regards to hazards, on the hot side with the lake level so low? We fish there every spring for a few days, but have always fished it when it was at full pool.

I'd spend some time going over charts before going out. Flats and long points will be places to avoid while running the big motor. I don't enuff experience on the hot side to know about offshore submerged structure - your map study will help you recognize/avoid these, too. The bigger issue will be ramps - at 3-4' low some may not be serviceable.

Good advice, thanks!! I have a GMCO map and will check the Navionics web app as well. Is it really that low? 3-4'? Dominions web site has it at 248.1'. Full pool is 250', right?

I can assure you that the hotside is extremely low and there are lots of hidden goodies right now to snatch a lower unit off....as 31 said..just don't run any flats or points and you will be ok though...the only danger I can think of off the top of my head is the island in pool 3 but that is marked and a danger at full pool

its about 18 inches higher on the Hot Side. This is what creates the pressure to move the water from the Hot Side to the Cold Side at Dike 3. Its done by the amount of water the plant pulls thru it (contents of the entire lake in about 1 month)......

According to the Dominion site it's around 2,000,000 gallons a minute at full operation. https://www.dominionenergy.com/about...tment-facility

Right now discharge temp is 68, lake temp is 43. How many BTU's does it take to raise the temperature of 2,000,000 gallons a minute by 25 degrees?

The amount of heat required = Water Volume (lb) x Temperature rise (F) x 1 Btu/lbF

    so 2000000 x 25 x 8.34 (lbs per gallon) = 417,000,000 mBTU's per minute......
