    Default water level

Anybody know why the lake level is so low?

No rain, dood. It's that simple. One of the drier late summer/early fall periods VA has seen.

Yeah I get that..but we have watershed that aren't that low. Doesn't seem to me it should be as low as it is. Makes me wonder did they draw it down for some reason.

They pulled it down, the Hotside, for a scheduled outage back in September that is ongoing. That combined with no rain has it lower than it's been in a pretty long time. Refer to page 20 of Lake Anna Times - http://www.lakeannalife.com/flipbook...pbook/?page=20

There may be some consumption drains down river, kinda like what's going on w/ the Tidewater region drawing from the Roanoke River/Kerr Rez. Dunno. We need some serious rainage.

For sure on the rain! That's interesting, I just assumed the coldside and hotside were on the same pool level. I didn't see a time frame on the scheduled outage.? Hope it comes up some before the spawn on the Hotside!

Somebody (can't remember who) said they drew the lake down some in the fall in anticipation of the Hurricane hitting us and then it didn't hit us and that coupled with the lack of rain...

I always assumed they were on the same level too, but it sounds like there is a little variation from on to the other.

Looks like you guys got some moisture here recently. Calling for some more mid week. Going to be enough to help lake levels you think?

The problem right now is the little bit of rain we are getting is being absorbed by the dry ground......thus not much runoff. We need about 4" -6" of steady rain for it to start coming back up.
