I have no news there. My buddy who lives in Walkerton says they've been catching them on the Matt. If they are in the Matt, they are in the James.
Thank God For Rednecks
I went out twice this weekend. Friday was slow, but I hit the tide wrong. Saturday I went back and caught a few dozen shad, white perch and a small 8" striper that was pretty cool. Its still early int he season - if the weather stabilizes this week, it should get real good.

I was out on my kayak on Wed the 11th, and they were eating good. My son and I landed at least 30 in the hour or so we were on the water.
We went again from the bank for a little bit on Saturday and tide was dead low...had one hook-up, but it came off. Horrible timing, but we'll be back at it hopefully Wed evening.
On Thursday the 19th around 9am I checked out river conditions in Richmond downtown around pipeline and 14th street bridge. Despite river being high and brown you can see plenty of fish getting to the surface near banks. Buzzards are taking advantage of whatever washes off or lingers too long in the rocks. I will try to fish tomorrow but looks like the action should be solid.
