nice work. rec spending some time on wiki (or whatever your fav encyclopedia might be) reading about pelagic fish. understanding some basics about how and why fish move they way they do will go a long way towards helping you better pattern them.

the common trap for anglers (of all levels) is to fish history - we fish here because we caught them here at some point in the past. rather than focusing on the history of the bite focus on the structure, water conditions, weather conditions, and baitfish behavior that caused that fish to be there at that particular time. when you add conditions to baitfish behavior trends you tend to have a better chance of finding the predator fish.

Yeah that makes sense, but the past week or so the weather has been consistantly wet and overcast, with not too much water temp change (maybe up a degree or so on the surface), so how a cove goes from almost nothing in it to chock full of bait is kind of wild. I was thinking they were in the cove on thier way downlake for the year maybe? Ive heard threadfin like warmer water right?
