    Default Smoked turkey

12 hours on the smoker. It's at 155deg right now. At 165 it comes off.

    Happy Thanksgiving fellow sportsmen!

Chunk charcoal and some cherry for the smoke.

What temp did you smoke it at? I smoked the turkey this year for the first time, mix of charcoal and apple. It took around 7 hours, smoker temp was 225-250. Turned out awesome, only downside is that now the in-laws want it smoked every year.

I ran mine @ 225. took so long cause my sister bought a turkey that weighed just shy of 22lb. General rule of thumb is half hour per pound @ 225. I told her next year get two 12lb ers. Lot easier to smoke.

a 22lber is a beast, glad mine was 14 lbs. I'm not crazy about turkey, but smoking it is a huge improvement.

Same here. Smoked a 21 and change bird Thursday. 14 hours later on 225, it was done . No brine just marinaded overnight with Stubb's poultry marinade then just before the smoker, I injected with creole jalapeno butter and rubbed it down with Stubb's ginger and rosemary rub.
    Turned out rather awesome
