    Default Cinco de Mayo Report

Sunday rain was light but steady. Group showed up with just rain jackets and I was sure by 10 am they would be ready to go in. Since we had three on board I decided to spider rig the spoils. We picked up crappie most every where we tried but only a few. We got nice yellow perch and two gar that self released. But in the closing moments of the trip we found catfish by the cooler full. Landed 22 fine eating cats. A good day with totally wet clients.

They grow so fast that they are safe to eat. They are harvested and sold at Wegmans and Whole Foods. Most bars in New York sell them as catfish nuggets. So the consumption warning for them is way lower than say rockfish or crabs.
