    Default The Creek

Dukes Creek! YA its no secret place. To put my day in perspective I have been in Dukes a couple of times these past few week without getting bit. I rolled in there yesterday and the fish just happen to be on a feed fest so go figure. It wasnt magic guys just dumb luck, lol. All the fish came from the points on both sides of the creek right at the no wake bouys. I got nada in the far back and nada out front. I will say that this is the first time in in a very long time that I have had a good day in that creek but you can bet I will visit it quite a few more times. Good fishing guys and hope you guys wack em.

Seems to be a hotspot. Isn't that where Gman caught his 6+ lber a few weeks ago and Cash lost his striper around the no wake bouy?

Thanks Jim for the creek name. I have done well in there at times also. You either hit them good or nada. There is normally a school of 12-13 inchers schooling back there near the back that will chase a lot of lures in January and February. This creek has good deep water in and around it and it has good potential. Thanks again.

Hey Jim, I was gonna say dukes was basically bass-less, but apparently loaded with stripers that were breaking on top

OK there is a reason Dukes has a bite now. JLAW and Scary are not there LOL! Really we fish it every weekend first thing before heading out and I would say 80% of the time we get 1-3 good 2lb plus out of there off points in 10' of water. There is also what looks like an old road bed that follows the conture of the south side (very clear on sidescan) about 20 yards of shoreline. They are normaly in one of three areas in the creek (points, brush piles along shoreline, or in the roadbed). There are a few hot spots off the docks that have brush piles made by us homesteaders there at Dukes.

So no reason to fish Dukes starting next weekend LOL we are back.
